A Call to Support Courtney

Dear Family, Friends and Community,

 

We want to share our campaign, "A Call to Support Courtney  Bliss" with you.

 

Courtney was involved in a terrible auto accident in 2002 at the age of 25.  The accident left Courtney with a brain injury requiring daily support from a caregiver, and she is dependent on a wheelchair.

 

Recently, our state government passed a new No-Fault law that no longer provides Courtney the financial support on which she is dependent. That included funding for a specialty-equipped van for transportation. This is devastating to Courtney as her vehicle is due for an upgrade and is no longer drivable. Courtney relies heavily on a safe vehicle to transport her to medical appointments, physical therapy, and occasional recreational activities.

 

Courtney has lost so much of her independence since her auto accident. Losing her vehicle now is heartbreaking. She is such a thoughtful, kind and caring person. Courtney always thinks of others before herself.

 

We are asking for donations to help Courtney purchase a new vehicle that will allow her to travel from her apartment with her assistant. At 44, Courtney loves spending time outdoors at the parks and in nature. She was able to do this, which helped her physiological and emotional health as well. Courtney has also mentored other young children with disabilities.

 

Together we have a goal of $35,000 for a new vehicle for Courtney with wheelchair accessibility. We have set up a Go Fund me on Courtney's behalf listed below.
