Sisters in need
Donation protected
Many of you know, and have already helped out tremendously, that I have a friend who roughly 3 weeks ago was given custody of 2 sisters. The girls are 18 months and 5. I can’t give details publicly but this family could use additional help. The girls came to them without notice and with only the clothing on their backs. Lots of people have donated clothing, beds, car seats, diapers, toys, food and even gift cards. They have what they need in that department. The family recently found out that they are not eligible for any child care assistance from the state because they are technically with a family member. Assistance is for the children in foster care. With that being said the family, having not planned on this nor being prepared for the magnitude of expenses, could use some help with child care. The caregiver owns her own business as a stylist, if she doesn’t work...she doesn’t get paid. To meet the requirements of the state they have to be in a licensed child care center and not an in home center. The cost is roughly $200 a week/$800 a month. That’s a car payment or rent/house payment for some people, who can do that consistently without being prepared for it? Anything that you could give to aid them with the cost of child care until they get their feet on the ground would be greatly appreciated. The family just needs time to figure out their new normal and make adjustments to their lives to accommodate all the changes. They welcome these girls into their home and lives with a grateful heart that they are able to do so. Thankful to know they are safe and happy. The rest will fall into place. Please keep the family in your prayers. Thank you.
