Jess's medical journey started April 28, 2014, but her life's story began 22 years ago. She was a vibrant, outgoing, loving sweet girl. Jess grew into an even more caring, vibrant, outgoing young lady. Jess has many hobby's that vary from shopping and hanging with friends to getting dirty riding 4 wheelers and dirt bikes. She is loved by all whom comes in to connect with her. If you have had the pleasure in meeting my sister you would love her in an instant! She would leave an every lasting impression not only on your heart but on your soul! She would give her last of anything to make another person feel better about themselves or their environment. Jess has always been that way even as a child.
My sister now more than ever needs your help. On April 28, 2014 she awoke to find that she couldn't move her legs. Once admitted in a New York hospital she was diagnosed with GBS, better known as Gilliam-barre Syndrome. This horrific virus attacks and ravages your body. GBS will attack your body and your muscles anywhere from 6-8 weeks. Within this time Jess must be monitored by ICU hospital staff. Jess's doctors tried to administer antibiotics into her blood stream but her body fought back and rejected it. Within days the GBS had taken away the ability to move her arms, legs and to communicate. Once a very outgoing, vibrant young lady is now clinging on for dear life. Jess has failed a swallow test and things start to go downhill. GBS has made its way into her lungs and her heart. The unthinkable had happen:she stopped breathing. Once the doctors revived her they prepped her for a ventilator. The New York doctors had to place her on ventilator and a feeding tube within hours of her poor body scamming to the GBS virus. The doctors will be doing several rounds for blood transfusions with the antibiotics in twined with the new blood to help her fight off the GBS virus. Jess struck a high fever and after several days of fight it the doctors have it under control. Jess's fight has only just started. The doctors at the New York hospital stated that her case is very sever. GBS has a 12 "“ 18 month rehab after the virus has taken its toll on her weak body of 6-8 weeks. Jess will have to remain in New York for rehab before our family can flyer her back to California where her families resides to finish the rehabilitation process. The New York doctors are estimating at least a 2 "“ 3 month stay in New York, before they will discuss letting her get on plane.
Our family needs your help! Jess needs rehab and we need to be there for her. Flying to and from the west coast to the east coast and then the hospital and hotel fees we are at a lost. The odds are just against us. Please anything will help Jess and us get her well and back to California and in good health.
God Bless and Thank you for prayers and donations.
