Raising School Fees
Donation protected
The African Leadership Academy (ALA) has been a cultivation site for Pan-Africanism, intellectual growth, and excellence. Unfortunately, four students, due to outstanding school fees, are at risk of not being able to graduate and complete their two-year journey. This is due to then not being able to keep up with the initial financial contracts set with the school. As per policy, the school has already suspended the students for the time being and they will only be able to return to class when their fees are paid. All four of these students are second years at the institution. With your help, these students will be able to sit their final exams ( Cambridge International Examinations required to go to university), receive their diploma, and graduate from ALA.
The student body at ALA is organizing a fundraising campaign to amend this issue. We were informed yesterday of ALA's decision to suspend the four students. A rough estimation of the amount that covers for the four students is 20,000 USD. It being one month from their CIE examinations, we are well aware this occurrence might be of significant impact to their academic journeys. we are doing our best as a student body to amend this situation. We are urging you all to help out. We understand that this issue requires policy reform and not only temporary donations thus we have set up a student committee to look into finding long term solutions. The urgency of this campaign as a short term solution is aimed at keeping the students in school at this critical point of their academic journeys.
It is a very difficult time on campus right now and any help from your end is really appreciated.
Unfortunately, we cannot share the names with you since we want to respect the students' privacy. However, we would like to share that the students are from South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria.
