Whistle-blower Fund
Donation protected
This is a fund for people who are willing to come forward about salmon farming.
Rumours are flying around about a lot dead farm salmon being removed at night from Broughton salmon farms, as well as a lot of dead salmon coming out of farms off POrt Hardy. DFO and the salmon farming industry claim farm salmon are healthy, however DFO is not allowed to visit farms during die-off events, so they can't actually know what is going on.
2019 has been the lowest wild salmon return in the history of Canada, while Alaska is seeing record high harvest levels. All these salmon are feeding in the same ocean.
Something is very wrong on the BC coast. That is why I am setting up a fund to support people with verified information on the dying farm salmon. Salmon farms use public waters to dump all their waste and I believe the public should know what is in this waste. If they are not killing wild salmon, the industry should be fine with this.
If you are in a position to help, keep checking this website. I know first-hand that these companies are aggressive. Maybe at some point there will be enough funds for you to feel comfortable with sharing what is really happening on these farms.
It is urgently critical that we know why farm salmon are dying and if they are killing off the wild salmon trying to migrate past sick farms.
I need the following:
1.) geo-tagged, time-stamped photos of the dead fish being removed from the farms
2.) information on which farms are losing fish and what boats are moving them
3.) information that will allow us to be present as these vessels offload dead farm salmon to document that this is occurring
If we want wild salmon clearly it is up to us. Join the Department of Wild Salmon by supporting workers who can help reveal what is really going on and becoming a whistle-blower for wild salmon. The industry is using public waters to flush all their wastes and I feel in this year of extraordinary wild salmon collapse that there can be no more disease secrets.
