Help Tona Brown get to Carnegie Hall
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Tona Brown, a transgender violinist and vocalist. I have always dreamed of performing at Carnegie Hall and was recently approved to be the first transgender woman of color to headline at this historical venue.
We are in phase II of our fundraising campaign. After securing the venue we now need help to make sure that all the intricate details are taken care of. As you can imagine Carnegie Hall is one of the most expensive venues in the world. We need your help to offset some of these costs in order to make this historical performance happen.
Many think I am crazy to try something of this magnitude but I know we can raise this money if we work together. Remember no amount is too small to help us to meet our goals! Your donation of $25 or more could help pay for printing costs, insurance, security, recording fees, advertising and so much more!
Update:
Tona Brown will be giving tickets to students from the Hetrick Martin Institute whose mission statement reads:
"The Hetrick-Martin Institute believes all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to achieve their full potential. Hetrick-Martin creates this environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth between the ages of 13 and 24 and their families."
As a violin and vocal instructor Tona understands the power of music and what attending a concert like this could mean to lgbt students. She feels that we must support lgbt youth who face bullying, violence and homelessness unlike any other group.
Let's make history together on June 25th, 2014! We CAN do this!!
Thank you in advance for your donations and support.
