Cancer Sucks!

On December 16th my doctor sent me for a chest CT Scan. The scan revealed a 3.47cm mass in my right breast. This was later confirmed by my ob/gyn on the 18th. I then was sent for a 3D mammogram and an ultrasound of my breast on December 26th where the mass once again confirmed by the radiologist.
The next week I saw a cancer breast surgeon, a medical oncologist and a radiology oncologist. Fun week. It was a flurry of different doctor visits, scans, blood tests and finally a biopsy. The biopsy showed a diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma ER+, PR-, HER2-.
The treatment plan is surgery first, then 6 months of chemotherapy and 30 rounds of radiation. Treatment is expected to last a year, barring any unexpected emergencies, and then 5 years of hormone therapy.
The hardest part of all of this is waiting for test results and a date for my surgery. I am also finding it difficult to ask for and accept help. I am usually the one to take care of others. I am hoping my dry sense of humor and quick comebacks will help me get through this difficult time in my life.
I will have to temporarily close my online baby boutique as I am the only employee while having treatments and surgery. Unfortunately this puts me in the position of asking for help financially to cover medical costs and medications that insurance will not cover, as well as everyday living expenses .
I am strong in my belief that all will end well. It will just be a bumpy, painful and stressful road.
Thank you with all my heart!
