Sponsor a Camper in Memory of Nicole

Donation protected
In memory of Nicole Wilson, we're sponsoring a child to attend a summer session at Camp Sweeney that otherwise would not be able to come.

In less than 48 hours we were able to meet our goal of raising 3000 dollars for one child, our new goal of 6000 dollars, and surpassed our third goal of 9000 for three campers. This is an amazing and humbling thing to be a part of and we're raising the goal once again to 12,000 dollars.

Nicole embodied the spirit of Camp Sweeney, her smile was contagious, her love for One Direction unmatched, and she was a joy in every life she touched. Her passing is a loss to the Sweeney family, but we believe she would want the community she so helped build to grow by getting even just one more camper to attend Camp Sweeney this summer.

The total cost of a three week session is 3,000 dollars. We would love to be able to completely cover the cost for one child to attend a summer session. Our first goal was just to get just even one child to Sweeney this summer but if we were able to help two or more children in honor of Nicole it would be amazing and a gret way to honor Nicole's memory.

As well as raising money for another camper in Nicole's memory, her sister Kelly has started the nationwide hastag #SingForNicole, asking Nicole's favorite band to dedicate a song to her at their upcoming concert Nicole had to tickets to. You can see the local news story WFAA News 8 did on Nicole and Kelly here. Please help Nicole's dream come true by taking a moment to join the movement on Twitter by tweeting @onedirection or using the hashtag #SingForNicole. A fellow counselor, Andrew Gray, has written a BuzzFeed article (here) with more on Nicole and the #SingForNicole movement.

Camp Sweeney is a camp in North Texas that has been dedicated to educating children with type one diabetes about their disease and how to live a healthy lifestyle for over 60 years. Another one of the main goals of Camp Sweeney is to build a community of kids with type one diabetes, enabling them to make life long friends who are able to support each other in the daily struggles a life with type one diabetes presents. Children age 5-18 with type one diabetes come from all over the country and world come every summer. For more information on Camp Sweeney you can visit thier website at www.campsweeney.org or contact me personally through this page. On behalf of the staff, campers and entire Sweeney Family thank you so much for your donation.
