Hannah Deley Cancer Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Crystal and I am reaching out to raise money for my dear friend and coworker Hannah Deley to help with any medical expenses and bills as she navigates through this chapter of her life.
Hannah has recently been diagnosed with appendiceal cancer and has taken a leave from work to start her chemotherapy treatments and kick this cancers butt.
If you know Hannah you know she is the type of person that will give you the shirt off her back or the shoes off her feet to help you. It’s our turn to help her ❤️ if you can’t donate please share with friends and family, every little bit helps!
Hannah’s story:
After many long months of having severe abdominal pain, doctors in emerge discovered that I had a lesion in my abdomen through an ultrasound, leading them to think there was a fibroid on my fallopian tube, which was causing this pain. Initally, I thought it was just a really bad appendicitis attack.
The doctor thought it was best to bring me into the operating room for a laparoscopic surgery to remove the fibroid. This caused me to be off work for a month in order to recover from the surgery. During my surgery, another surgeon was consulted for a second opinion and found that my appendix was enlarged, making this their new concern. My medical case went from gynecological to colorectal/general. Throughout the summer i had to undergo CT scans, ultrasounds and bloodwork to find out what was causing my pain. The general surgeon thought my appendix looked abnormal and wanted to do a colonoscopy to take biopsies and make a more accurate diagnosis.
On October 28th, 2023, I was diagnosed with appendiceal cancer. The CT scan also showed about a dozen small lesions throughout my lungs, meaning that the cancer has already started to metastasize since my pain started back in March.
I received a subclavian portacath on Monday November 6 and will be starting my first round of chemotherapy treatment on November 8th 2023. Were attacking the cancer aggressively and once the cancer gets smaller i will be referred out to Ottawa or Toronto for surgery to get my appendix and the remaining cancer removed.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of my work family at the TBRHSC for all of the love and support. Im thankful to have a great supportive family and friends around me to help navigate this very confusing and hard time but I’m a fighter and i will give every ounce of strength and fight i have in me to beat this cancer.
