Help Kat Record Her First Album

Big news to share! Finally, finally, finally, I’m planning on releasing an album of my original songs. Check out a few rough demos of my songs using the links below: 

The upcoming album has been a work in progress since early 2020, so I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally be moving forward with it with the help of some awesome folks (shout out to Ryan Masecar, Courtney Long, Kevin Teachey, Matt Kirk, Ira Levy, Dave Wolk, and more!).

 

In fact, we were booked to record 4 of the 12 songs this very weekend (Jan 8 and 9), but thanks to close encounters of the COVID kind amongst those involved, we’ve had to delay that until March.

 

In the meantime, if you want to help support this dream, please do consider contributing to this fundraiser. While I’ve already set aside full funding for the first recording session, it’s a pretty pricey process, and I’d greatly appreciate any help you all can give to help with those final two sessions (8 songs!).

Donators get immediate access to first four songs recorded (must provide email)! They will also receive exclusive pre-release access to one song from each of the next two sessions.

More Details

 

Each recording session (4 songs each) costs approximately $2,000. This includes payment for recording studio time, mixing and mastering, digital release, and some compensation for session musicians. It does not include full compensation for all instrumentalists, many of whom are generously contributing their time for free (y’all are the best!), or any money set aside for album cover design or physical CD release. Any extra money outside of the stated goal will go towards these items.

 

As mentioned, I’m taking on the cost of the first recording session of four songs. These will be released immediately upon completion as singles to help show you all what we are doing. Anyone who contributes to this fundraiser will automatically get a copy of these songs if you provide your email address as part of your donation.

 

For the second two sessions, I will send out one song per session to those who donate (must provide email address!) before the actual album’s release as a special sneak peek!

 

I’ll also be uploading clips and images from the first recording session once it’s in process for everyone to see.
