Hello, my name is Lilliya Scarlett Reid. I am a painter, writer, and filmmaker. During the winter of 2020, I wrote a short story entitled, BITS, and have since adapted it into a short film. With your help, I will be able to direct and produce the film this spring, in my hometown of Livingston, Montana. Read the original short story here.
"Big Sky Country" is known by outsiders for its scenic beauty, but I want to focus on the people who live and work there. BITS is a story about an unflappable waitress who catches the attention of a serial killer on the hunt. When his pursuit ends abruptly, the young woman is overcome with rejection. Pining for closure, she struggles to untangle feelings of neglect and desire. For a deeper understanding of our story and tone, please check out my visual deck here.
BITS will be my narrative directorial debut as my previous film experience has been in front of the camera as an actress and directing music videos. This film is also an extension of my visual art.
