Spinal Cord Injury Recovery
Donation protected
As a lot of you know by now, I was in a hunting accident Sunday, November 5th. As i was climbing up the tree, I grabbed onto the hang on stand which unfolded on me, falling 15 ft to the ground landing directly on a crossbow. I was rushed to Grant medical center and spent 3 days in the icu, and a week in the trauma unit. I have a burst fracture on my L2 vertebrae that almost severed my spinal cord completely. I went through a 7 hour long major back surgery. They ran a rod from my T12 down to my L4 with screws to brace the crushed vertebrae. This injury did cause Paraplegia.
As of right now, I am able to use my right leg, and my left leg is still a work in progress to get it stronger.
I spent months at a rehabilitation center away from my family and my little girl. I was unable to work or drive for months & I haven’t paid enough into social security to qualify for disability. Unfortunately bills don’t stop just because of an accident. I also received notice of having to be out of my house this month.
This money will be used for monthly bills, medical bills, moving, food, transportation expenses, my daughter, etc.
Even if you’re unable to donate anything, we ask that you maybe just send a prayer or two for my family and I as we continue to get through this. Anything would be greatly appreciated and will help tremendously. Thank you SO much.
You can also send anything directly to my venmo if that's easier. @leahweiher
