My name is Sarah Ming, and I am a nomad. I have lived all over the United States and Asia, traveled on foot, worked many odd jobs, and served aboard the USS George Washington out of Yokosuka, Japan. I am an artist, a writer, and a gypsy.
I am currently trying to make a documentary, something I have wanted to do for a long time now. My mother came here with her family in 1975, after the Fall of Saigon. The stories of strength, courage, and family I heard while growing up are stories I think would benefit the world to hear, and I really want to produce something beautiful.
Most of my film projects are funded out of my own pocket, with a small gofundme campaign on the side to help offset some of the costs. This project is so much more real to me, and since these are not actors, filming them is a little more delicate, and I need to hire the crew and rent the equipment to do so. I also want to bring my mom back to Vietnam so she can show me firsthand where she is from. I have been there before, and it is truly a remarkable place, full of history and magic.
This project is very dear to my heart, and any help you can give will help me bring it to life.
Donations of just $1 will earn you a digital copy of the film. Donations over $50 will earn an invitation to the private LA screening, and donations of $100 will earn you all of the above and my everlasting love! For anyone interested in getting their foot in the door in the indie film industry, donations over $1000 will earn you a producer credit on the film and the chance to observe and collaborate with me during the editing process. But dont forget, that cute lil $1 will get you the digital copy and my deepest thanks!!!!!!
