Help for the Swints

Donation protected
My brother-in-law, Curtis has MS. He and my sister were attending MS Camp Can Do near Houston.  He headed home from camp with my sister and  a urinary tract infection and a van with a broken lift. Shortly, thereafter, his wheelchair breaks and the airconditioner in the house quits working. Curtis gets weaker and is admitted to the hospital for a week of antibiotics and steroids. He is transferred to an intense two weeks at a rehabilitation facility. My sister is sleeping with no airconditioning in Texas and it's only getting hotter. Her neighbors have helped with a room airconditioner and drapes to shut off parts of the house, and freon for temporary fixes to the AC. Curtis comes home and any transportation to doctor appointments must be done in a rental van because the lift and electric wheelchair aren't working.

A short time later, Curtis becomes dehydrated and passes out in the bathroom. 911 is called and he is taken by ambulance again to a close hosptal because his blood pressure is so dangerously low. He is there for 3 days and has now been transferred to another rehabilitation facility. My sister has been going back and forth to the hospital, rehab, and transporting her daughter to doctors for a hamstring injury.

I'm asking for your help with donations, no matter how small, to help the Swints with the mounting medical costs and replacement of their 40 year old airconditioner as well as help to replace the lift on the van.

Thank you,
Valerie Cawley
