Andy's 70k Cycle Challenge

In 2023 I will celebrate my 70th birthday and start year 5 of a cancer recovery programme and to celebrate, I have set myself a challenge of cycling 70k in a day to raise funds for our charity, The Howarth Foundation supporting the homeless back into employment.

This might not seem much of a challenge to many but considering I haven't walked more than ten yards in the last five years, have two false hips, had major cancer surgery, collapsed lungs, pneumonia x 2, two spells of intensive care, six-month chemotherapy, hernia surgery, piling on two stone in weight and... I don't own a bike; this is a hell of a big deal for me!

I am looking for sponsorship to help me reach a target of £5k for this amazing charity, and if anyone would like to peddle along with me, you would be more than welcome!

The challenge will take place on Monday 5th June 2023 along the Leeds Liverpool canal finishing in Leeds City Centre.
