Across South Africa and Back Again In 90 Days

Donation protected
Hello, and thank you for looking at our page to support us. For a quick overview, our challenge is to travel the equivalent distance from the east coast to the west coast of South Africa and back again in 90 days to raise money to help fund our GB under 21 training tour in 2023 to South Africa and support Breast Cancer Now. To put a figure on it, that’s 2,646km in 90 days (From the 7th of November to the 4th of February). To make the kilometres we can walk, bike, run or do any form of exercise as long as we have done 102.9km a week, which is an average of 14.7km a day. We are using a team fundraising page, but you can choose which team member you would like to support under "Donation Details" when you donate. In addition, 10% of what each of us make will go to Breast Cancer Now and the rest will go to the team member. You can view how much each member has raised in the team section of the page. For more information, you can read on.

The sport of target shooting is a hidden world that few have even heard of, let alone explored. Many of us get involved when we are very young, and most never stop until an impressively old age. Like other sports though, it combines skill, dedication, and communication, but unusually a bit of wind reading as well.
Hayden and I (Sarah) have both been shooting for about 5+ years, and it means a lot to us now. After a lot of hard work, we have been selected for the GB under 21 squad. This selection is a great honour, but the hard work isn’t over yet. The final team that is selected will go to South Africa for the World Long Range Championships in 2024. There truly never is a dull moment with this sport. The 2024 tour is a long-term goal for both of us, but to help us prepare and improve our shooting skills we have decided to go on the 2023 training tour to South Africa. The exciting thing is the under 21s won’t be the only ones out there; some of the “Gods” of the professional shooting world will be there too and not just from GB. International teams from America, Australia, and New Zealand, for example, will be there too training for 2024 so we really will be learning from the best.
The 2023 tour is for two weeks in March and will involve a lot of competitions, training and acclimatising to the high altitude and temperatures; 2 things we are definitely not used to in the UK. Sadly, a trip like this doesn’t come in at a small price, so a huge part of touring is the creativity of fundraising. With this challenge in mind, Hayden and I have come up with this challenge that will not only help us fundraise for this amazing opportunity but also improve our fitness. Thank you very much for reading our story. Please donate if you can; it is greatly appreciated.
