901 Comics & 901 Toys Crime Relief Fund!

Hello All,
Many of you have probably seen the ongoing saga of what has been going on with the 901 Family of stores this last couple of days on social media, what a ride! For those of you who haven’t, here  is a quick recap!
Friday morning at 3:30am both 901 Comics and 901 Toys in Cooper-Young were targeted by thieves who smashed in our windows and rummaged through the stores for cash but found none! Nothing was stolen but it left us with two very expensive windows to replace.
In an unrelated incident across town we found out Friday afternoon that our shipping office/storage building had been burglarized to the tune of $3000.00 in product being stolen! Thanks to the awesome crew at Comics & Collectible's,
they were suspicious about a person who was trying to sell  some comics and toys  to them and gave us a call and also snapped a picture of the perpetrator! Later that night Shannon saw the thief (who he recognized from the picture!) walking down the street and apprehended him and handed him over to the police! As a result of the arrest and help from customers and Comics & Collectibles we were able to recover about $1800.00 of merchandise. All good news but we are still left with quite a bit of damages and a loss of at least $1200 in product.

We do have glass insurance but it only covers $1000 after a $100 deductible for the comic store and the glass at the toy store is $600 but the insurance there is a $1000 deductible.  The comic book store window is going to cost us another $600-$800 plus our signage on the window.

It’s never good timing for crime but this hits us at an especially hard time as we were closed most of last week due to the winter weather and missed out on several days of receipts and as a small business it really has left us strapped.

We don’t want to ask for help but right now we need a little help if you can spare it.  We just are going through a small batch of bad timing but hopefully we can come out the other side with a little help from our friends.

Thank you for reading and if you can help, we appreciate it, if not could you please share? We are hoping $3500 will cover our costs or replacing windows, signage, and the product we did not recover.

Our mission at our 901 stores has always been our community first and wanting to make Memphis a better place! We still have hope and we will never stop trying to achieve our goals, we just need a little help right now!

Harry, Jaime, Shannon, and the rest of the 901 Crew want to thank you in advance!

Thank you again Memphis! We love y’all!
