Wheelchair Van for Reese
Donation protected
Will you help us get some Wheels for Reese? Reese D'Ortenzio was born with Aicardi Syndrome in 2007. Characterized by the doctors as a "catastrophic diagnosis," the Syndrome involves daily seizures and global developmental delays. Although physically disabled, Reese is the light of her family's life. She brings joy and hope to everyone who knows her. Reese is 6 years old now and requires a wheelchair to navigate life. So...now she needs an adapted van to get her back on the road!
Reese has held a special place in so many hearts since we met her 6 years ago. So often, people ask us what they can do to help Reese and the D'Ortenzio family. A new need has become overwhelmingly apparent in recent months. This is your chance! Reese has graduated to a big girl wheelchair, and she requires a great deal of physical strength to transport her and her chair. Not only is this hard on her mama's back, but maneuvering Reese in and out of their car can put Reese at risk.
It is with great joy that we invite you to take part in "Wheels for Reese," a fundraiser to provide for Reese's WHEELCHAIR VAN! Converted vans can cost twice as much as a typical van, so we can help them with that, right?!
Reese's wheelchair van will:
1. Allow Reese to get out and enjoy the world with her family!
2. Reduce the number of seizures caused by waking Reese as she's moved in/out of her wheelchair and car seat.
3. Prevent Mama from being injured due to heavy lifting of Reese and the wheelchair.
What do you say? Will you help us get Reese back on the road? She's got a lot of living to do!!
If you don't know the D'Ortenzios, here's a snippet...
With a gift of $150 or more, we will send you a "Wheels for Reese" T-shirt.:) Make sure you tell us your size and address! Please note that we will put in the t-shirt order at the conclusion of the fundraiser, so please be patient with us!
