Murphy’s Law /House Fire /If You’d Like To Help

On November 22 at 2:19pm my 18 year old son came home after attending college classes at UMKC to find his family’s home on fire. He valiantly tried to open the front door in attempt to save his family animals. Essex a 3 year old English cream golden retriever and Edmünd a 6 month old German Shepard. The blast of flame, smoke and heat threw him back. Calling 911 he reported the house on fire to the Liberty MO fire department as he made his way around to the side of the house where he knew his 5 year old cat Dobson was down stairs. Luckily he was able to slide a window open saving the cats life as the fire raged through the wall next to his head. Getting ready to enter the house in hopes of saving the dogs in another attempt. Jordan Fleck a graduate of Liberty North High School saw Blake in distress in the front yard, pulled her car over and convinced him to not enter. She stayed with him until the fire department arrived. Both Jordan and Blake are nothing less the hero’s. Blake saved one of three animals while reporting the fire and Jordan saved Blake. Blake was at the scene from 2:19pm till 10:19pm that cold night. He help receive his dogs as the fire department brought them out. They were family members to Blake, his father David Murphy, UBC local 315 and three sisters Alexandria, Paige and Nicola. David has singly raised his 4 children for the past 7 years. Destruction ravaged every room in this house. Everything they owned by this family of five was destroyed. They have what they walked out with that morning. A lot of wonderful people including complete strangers keep telling me they’d like to help in one way or another. I can only put so much in a hotel room while I look for a rental as they rebuild over the next year. This is a great nation as I see neighbor helping neighbor or others reaching out not even knowing the person yet having children themselves. Of all times with the holidays soon upon us for the children to be stripped of a house they call home.  Please if you’d help what you can or pass it on to someone who might it will be appreciated as we put Humpty back together again. Thank you and Happy Holidays.
