Nick Harrisons family
I’m posting this with a heavy heart.
Over the last 3 months, Nick has been complaining of increased headaches and neck pain that were brushed off and treated with Tylenol and a heating pad. Late June he told Destinee that he thought he had a seizure or stroke because he had lost control and function of his eyes after he fell down. A trip to a specialist was made, and MRI had been ordered but had not been done yet.
On Friday July 2nd, Nick suffered a massive stroke and was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state.
Saturday, Nick was transferred to a different hospital with a Neuro and Surgical ICU, where he would later slip into a coma and have emergency brain surgery to relieve pressure and allow draining. The performing surgeon said that these symptoms are normally seen in much older patients. With Nick, he felt like he is young enough and could have a fighting chance.
Nick is currently under observation in the surgical ICU. The outcome and next steps are unknown at this point, we are all waiting for him to fight back and push through.
Destinee has been by his side around the clock, joined by his mother and oldest brother. These are very dire and trying times. The family requests privacy while we try to get through this together.
Any donations will help fill the gaps with medical bills and immediate needs while Destinee is by his side and unable to work and until Nicks insurance kicks in. Any unspent funds will go into a saving account for his 3 children - Emery, Aniston, and baby Silas.
Thank you for the kind thoughts, prayers and well wishes that have already been sent.
We need all the support that we can get - and are hoping for a miracle!
