Imagine the fear. The ground trembles with each explosion, sending tremors through your heart as much as the walls. You huddle in a cramped room with strangers, the familiar walls of your home reduced to a pile of rubble just streets away. This is the daily reality for my family, trapped in the war-torn heart of Gaza.

I am Khaled Humaid, currently living in Germany who is 28 years old and is the second one on the left. My siblings are stuck in Gaza with nobody to take care of them since my father passed away and my mother who is stuck in Egypt because of the war. My siblings are Zaied, the third one on the right who is 21 years old, Nour, the second one on the right who is 19 years old, Dana the third one on the left who is 16 years old, and Zain who is 14 years old is the first one on the left.

I remember when my siblings Zaied, Nour, Dana, and Zain were on the 20th day of the war, I was telling my family and friends to be patient because the war will be over in a week, and I told them the same thing when they reached the 30th and 40th day, until reaching the 86th day of the ongoing war and until this moment! The last time my siblings saw electricity was 81 days ago! The last time they slept on a bed was 81 days ago! The last time they saw the door of our house, their rooms, beds, and neighborhood was 81 days ago!

Every day, they are afraid to hear about someone close or dear to them being dead. Every day they are afraid that they wake up and do not find water suitable for drinking and food to feed my younger siblings! Every day passes and they wish to live peacefully knowing there is tomorrow like any other human being! Every minute passes by and they see bombed houses which say that until the moment the martyrs are still under the rubble! Every day passes by and they see the displaced while they are sleeping in the corridors of hospitals and school rooms! The situation is very disastrous and far away from imagination! It is impossible to describe the amount of fatigue, fear and terror they live every moment, but the bright side is that they have reached the 86th day of the extermination while being steadfast, patient, united, and persistent in supplication. Time is running out, my mother's desperate pleas echoing across borders as she fights to reunite her scattered children.
