No One Fights Hodgkin's Lymphoma Alone!

Donation protected
For those of you that know me well, you are aware that this is not something I would do unless there was a genuine need. My dear cousin, Asha Hunter (18) was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma (a form of cancer) in December 2018.  She noticed a bump on her neck and initially thought it was the result of an insect bite. After another bump quickly appeared next to the first one , her mother took her to Lexington Medical Urgent Care and the doctor conducted several tests and referred her to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. A biopsy later revealed Asha's diagnosis of HL.

Asha is a student at Spartanburg Methodist College. Due to the diagnosis, she was unable to complete the second semester.  Her sister Ashanti, a Lander University student, also took time off from her studies to provide support.

Asha's parents, Anthony and Sharon Hunter, both are hardworking individuals. Anthony is employed with Doolittle Trucking and Sharon is employed with Newberry County Memorial Hospital in the Patient Financial Services Department. She has decreased her hours to take care and support Asha during this time.  The hours worked basically cover health care insurance.

As you can imagine, this diagnosis has been devastating to the family as they have strongly relied on each other and their faith to endure all that has happened the last several months privately in accordance with Asha's wishes.

What we know is that HL is a rare but treatable and curable form of cancer of the lymph nodes that requires chemotherapy. Asha's current treatment includes ABVD chemotherapy.

Financially, the family has experienced hardship due to costly medical bills (even with insurance), travel expenses, and other related expenses.

Those who know the Hunter family know the family is one filled with care, compassion, and genuine love for others. This campaign was created not as a hand out but to help a family that has unselfishly helped other families in the past. Now, they can use your assistance. Please consider donating to this GoFundMe account created on behalf of Asha and her family to help offset the cost of her present and future care. Your financial help, prayers, and positive thoughts are requested and appreciated.

Please note Asha’s mother Sharon will be managing the funds raised on her behalf.
