Help after a medical nightmare.
On March 29th, 2019, just before midnight, I was rushed to the ER with symptoms of appendicitis. After a few tests, I found out it wasn't appendicitis, but instead I was five weeks pregnant. This seemed incredulous to me, as I had a sterilization done with c-section with my youngest daughter. They sent me home that night as they were unsure where my pregnancy was located in my body. They noted a "blip" in my ovary, but weren't sure if the baby was there or somewhere else in my reproductive system. They told me my hormone levels were far below range for a normal pregnancy, and it was probably ectopic, but hadn't ruled out the possibility of a viable pregnancy as there was a gestational sac in my uterus. After two days of what seemed like torture, and thinking I might possibly have to prepare to have another child, I went back to the ER for more tests. They confirmed it was an ectopic pregnancy due to the hormone levels in my blood. I was given Methotrexate (chemotherapy) shots to terminate my pregnancy as it was seen by the doctors as less evasive than surgery. I was to follow up with an ob doctor who suggested I get my tubes removed as a more permanent form of birth control, and to keep this from ever happening again. I scheduled a surgery a month out, and went in every couple of days to have my HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels checked, to be sure they were still dropping. A week before my surgery, I was again rushed to the ER. I was in so much pain, I literally thought I might die. They ran more tests and stabilized me, but I went home that night not knowing why I was in so much pain. They rescheduled my surgery for that Monday, May 6th, instead of that Thursday, citing emergency reasons. I later found out the methotrexate had failed and my baby had started growing again inside my fallopian tube. A couple days after my tube removal surgery, I went into the ER with sypmtoms of a blood clot. Tests found no blood clot, but they did notice the "blip" they'd previously found in my ovary had grown to a huge cyst. They sent me home telling me to have my doctor monitor the cyst. I had my follow up from my surgery on the 23rd of May and was told I could go back to work in another week with light restrictions. I finally returned to work Monday, June 3rd. This last Saturday, however, I was rushed to the ER again with severe stabbing pains where my left ovary was located. My ob doctor was called into the ER and after an ultrasound, he admitted me for an emergency hysterectomy. I'm at home healing now, but it's going to be a few more weeks, 2-4 at best before I can return to work. I've missed so much work from all of this, and we're so behind in bills, I really don't know how we'll survive. I hate asking for help, but I need your help to keep my family going so I can concentrate on getting better, getting back to work and finally putting this whole nightmare behind me. I thank you for your time, and support. I just want to get my life back on track.
