You may already know, but just a recap: I will be going to Karatu, Tanzania this summer for 8 weeks to work at a Youth With a Mission (YWAM) base. I will mainly focus on starting a library to develop the learning resources at the base's primary school, New Vision School Karatu (NVSK), a Christian primary school focused on developing the future leaders of Tanzania. This library is a big goal of mine because of how large an impact libraries have had in my life, and I want to make sure these students have the same opportunities to a space and resource to build their literacy skills.
However, this will be hard to accomplish without raising money (specifically $3000..aaahhh) due to the expensive transportation, vaccination, visa, living fees, and library materials. I am working more hours, trying to discipline myself with spending, and eating granola bars for breakfast to save up, but unfortunately, that will proobbbbably not be enough. I have faith that everything will come together, but it would be so wonderful to gain your support! Even if it's $1, a partnership in prayer, or sharing this page/my trip to other people, it would mean so, so much and I would be so, so thankful :')

Happy Thursday!
I hope you are having a great week! I just wanted to update some info on this page; I will be partnering with my friend Hannah Kim on this project, and so we are upping our fundraising goal to $5000. I am trying to reach $3000 and she is trying to reach $2000. We decided to consolidate on one GoFundMe page because we thought this would be more efficient and organized. If you have any questions, please let us know, and again THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!!

Hello everyone!
It's Hannah. For those who don't know me, I am one of Kai's friends and I will be joining Kai in Karatu. I am excited to be going back to New Vision School Karatu and spend some of my summer with my friends and family in Tanzania. Last summer I saw a great need for books at the primary school and its neighboring schools; we believe starting a library can help children improve their literacy skills. I hope that these books will empower the students, staff, and community.
I am raising $2000 (which is why the fundraising goal has been raised to $5000) to pay for transportation, visa, living costs, books, book transportaton, etc. If you would like to support us, the students, and the community, I would be so grateful.
Thank you for all the prayer and financial support so far.
