Monthly Bills

Hi, my name is Audrey Gillam. I am raising money for my brother Danny and sister in law Lavena. Danny has a stroke December 29th, 2023. They found a blood clot at the base of his brain that is 70% blocked. It is too dangerous to surgically remove because of its location. They upped his blood thinner medication and he was sent home Sunday December 31st, 2023. Lavena had to call 911 Friday January 5th, 2024 cause he was unable to stand/walk, slurred speech and drooping face on his right side. He had another stroke and found a second blood clot at the base of his brain. They upped his blood thinner medication and started physical and speech therapy. He was doing great as far as getting up and walking. The most he walked was 163 ft. with only 1 rest. He still is unable to use his right arm. Tuesday January 23rd, 2024 Lavena left to go home and she told the nurse at the nurses station that she was leaving for the night and to make sure they turned his bed alarm on. Well they forgot and Danny fell out of the bed. They did an x-ray on his hip/leg and there were no fractures/breaks. Lavena went back up to hospital the next morning and Danny couldn’t walk but 60 ft. and had to take 4-5 breaks. Lavena asked if they would do a CT scan to make sure the blood clots hadn’t shifted. They told her they did and everything was fine. Later that day she was talking to the nurse and told her she was thankful that the CT scan was fine. The nurse took a look at Danny’s chart and informed Lavena that there was no CT done. I am asking for help cause Lavena has exhausted their community generosity. She has been commuting every day from the hospital back home cause she is not allowed to stay. She has monthly bills and fuel expenses that she can’t afford. Any little bit helps and your generosity will be appreciated. I could not even imagine what they are going through. Thank you in advance!
