A helping hand for Teri

Donation protected

On May 30th, mom broke her wrist. It was a freak accident where she missed a step and found the shortest route possible off a porch.

Her wrist was severely fractured and her already chronically ailed back was also hurt.

It all went downhill from there.

A cast that was put on too tightly started us on our CRPS journey.

If you’ve ever experienced this you cannot forget it. It is nicknamed the “suicide disease”.
A lot less was known about it just a couple years ago. Many doctors still don’t know about it.
People have suffered with this hell for years, only to be told they’re faking or being dramatic.
It is literally the highest level of pain on the Pain Assessment Scale, higher than childbirth or broken bones. It can affect one or more limbs, and it can spread anywhere in the body. It affects all ages and races. The scariest part is, it can be brought on by any level of injury, even as simple as a sprained ankle.

My mom has “flares” daily that can feel like a sledge hammer smashing her arm again and again, every day, throughout the day. Her fingers stay swollen. Her skin on that hand is shiny one day, or peeling off the next. Her nails have curled. Her hand is atrophied.
And modern medicine has no answers.

There is only pain management. She had a nerve block put in and within 10 days she was scheduling another. This is no way to live.

We are seeking alternative treatment for mom.

Hyperbaric chamber.
Non inflammatory diet.
Mirror imaging therapy.
Physical therapy.
Acupuncture.

We believe her body can heal itself. We are humbly asking that anyone who loves mom and is compassionate to help fund these expenses.

Ideally, we’d like to get her to a place in Arkansas called Spero Clinic that specializes in CRPS and other painful chronic diseases.
The cost of the clinic starts at $32k, and she’d need temporary housing for up to 18 weeks while receiving therapy.

Because that seems so out of reach, we’re trying treatments nearby that are more attainable. Whatever we’ve heard others have had success with. We want to send this into remission.

If you feel lead to give even $5, my parents would appreciate it so much. Mom is working hard to not just endure, but get better from this hellish disease.
