Help Nash Walk Again!

On July 4th, 2017, Nash nestled his way into our life as the gentlest puppy in the litter. Since it was Independence Day, I named him National but have always called him Nash. He's the kind of dog you can't help but love as he loves everybody from the start, and has for 5 years of his life.
On the morning of November 14, Nash was let out as usual but we shortly thereafter received a call from our neighbor that he had found Nash near the road a hundred yards away (where Nash never wanders.) We assume Nash had been struck by a vehicle as both of his front forelegs had been fully broken, one of them puncturing through the skin.
My dad loaded him in the back of his truck and immediately began contacting vets to find emergency care. After several said they could not provide such services, we ended up driving 45 minutes to Blue Pearl Vet at Town Center in Virginia Beach. At the time it seemed that splinting both legs would lead to recovery. Several hours later we headed home with both of Nash's legs splinted and a list of medications to help diminish pain, swelling, and infection.
On a follow-up visit to a primary vet on November 18, to get his bandages changed, we were informed that Nash's legs were unlikely to heal with just the splints. Without healing Nash could lose his limbs or face no use of them. His vet recommended contacting various veterinary surgeons, with a warning of the potentially high costs. After calling various animal care centers with little to no success, we were given a contact at West Hills Veterinary Centre in Henderson, NC. The staff there was so helpful and quickly offered a surgical solution and an estimate at a more reasonable rate than we expected. They also shared Nash's picture with their staff and began rooting for him.
We will take Nash to West Hills on November 30 where he will spend the night and have surgery on both front legs on December 1. We will pick him up on December 2 for the journey home.
We are so grateful to West Hills and look forward to seeing Nash fully recover, go on walks, and enjoy life. We are thankful for your contribution to our efforts to help Nash walk again.
Your gifts will be used to pay for the bills related to the original splinting, to defray the cost of the surgery, and to help with some follow-up care.
