Olivia’s Medical Care
Donation protected
Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to visit Olivia’s page. As most of you know, Olivia has been hospitalized for quite a few days now, almost a week and we still have no word on when we will be going home.
Olivia developed a rare bacterial infection that began to affect her eyes, ears and lungs. The only way to treat this type of bacteria is intravenously with aggressive antibiotics available only in the hospital.
During her hospitalization, she had a CT scan which gave us the diagnosis of mastoiditis, which is inflammation and infection in her ear bones. Luckily, the doctors we have been blessed with have been extremely proactive otherwise, if left ignored she could’ve lost her hearing.
Olivia now requires a PICC line which is a catherter inserted in her large veins for prolonged intravenous antibiotics because her veins have given out. We still have no word on when we’ll be going home, and when we are able to leave she will require home health visits for continued medical treatment.
We are so blessed to have the support system we do. Our friends and family have been there for us tremendously. As a single mother, I am Olivia’s only provider and of course, I am unable to leave her side which means I have not been able to work. Our medical expenses are piling up and we have started this funding page with hopes that we will be able to pay for some expenses.
We are truly grateful for any donation you are able to make. Thank you again for being so generous with myself and Olivia.
With gratitude,
Gwen
