End of the Road..

Hello everyone. My name is Frederico Enriquez and I'm the Chef/Owner of Auntie Ning’s Filipino Food.

This may be the end of the road for Auntie Ning's.. PLEASE read the entire message.

As many of you know, Auntie Ning's started from my passion to share my culture and food with Richmond and its surrounding area. I taught myself to cook and then started selling pancit and lumpia out of a tent. We got so much love that we eventually grew from a food trailer to a food truck and then finally into a brick and mortar.

During these past 5 yrs, I managed Ning's while working a full time federal government job.

I recently quit my full time job with the federal government in November. Working behind a desk wasn't for me. My passion was cooking and washing dishes in the kitchen.

I wanted to dedicate all my time to Auntie Ning's in hopes of growing it into its final form, a sit down restaurant. Things don't always work out the way we want. So we decided to make Chef Suite our temporary home.

Sales haven't been that great since I decided to work full time for Ning's. Our truck is out of commission due to the bitter cold weather and the delivery apps eat up a giant chunk of our sales. Combining these unfortunate circumstances with the extremely low sales in general during the winter makes for an all time low.

As much as I didnt want to do this fundraiser, I just can't let go of Auntie Ning's just yet. It might be just me, but I feel like the love/need for Filipino food has grown since we first started in 2019. I know there is a final home for Auntie Ning's and I think we are so close that I just need to hold on for a little longer.

I truly believe and know in my heart that Filipino food belongs in Richmond. So if this is the end of the road for Auntie Ning's, just know that we will be back one way or another, fighting for the culture!
