96 Miles for Freedom

In three months of war, more than 4 million people have fled Ukraine since the Russia invasion began. There have been seven million displaced persons, separated families, and wounded people. Facilities such as healthcare, water, schools, and homes are damaged or destroyed. The influx of refugees has overwhelmed many countries, like Poland and Moldova, with little resources.

Two groups of employees from the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) will be tackling the West Highland Way in Scotland at the end of May in support of Ukrainian families affected by the war and refugees fleeing the country. One group will be taking on the seven-day, 96-mile hiking trail stretching from Milngavie to Fort William. The second will be cycling by road (129.8 miles).

We have named the challenge ’96 Miles for Freedom’ with the hope of raising £9,600 pounds for Ukrainian families and refugees - £100 for every mile completed.
