My name is Brooks, I write songs and sing from my heart. I've been doing this pretty much my whole life (I'm 23 now). I always give myself completely to my performance because I know what music can do for people. Music to me, is the ability to create a moment in time where everyone from the performer to the audience can take a break from the rest of their daily struggles and just get lost in something purely euphoric. It's about exploring the essence of being human and the power of our emotions to overcome the obstacles of daily life.
We all feel hope in music. Whether its as simple as singing along to your favorite song in the car or as strong as taking a long drive to see your favorite band play; we all have a personal and deep relationship with music. As far as I'm concerned, I don't know of any other human creation that holds the same personal value as a song you purchase and cherish for all of your years; except of course, the invaluable love of family and friends. Music has value and the smallest part of its value is the price you pay for the CD or the download. Think about it, a song that's $0.99 for a one time fee, is everlasting in the bond you create with it. It shouldn't ever get old and you may even find many new meanings to why you 'love that song'!
The reason I am asking for donations is because it takes a lot to get a music career going these days. Recording is expensive, necessary musical equipment is expensive, and you cannot start a career in music without paying your dues by playing anywhere and everywhere, more than often times for free. I play wherever music is appreciated and desired. I've played for hundreds of people, I've played for less than ten, I play on the street, I play at my neighbor's backyard party, I play for my friend's wedding, I play anywhere I can create that moment because the beauty of music is it can be created everywhere! There is absolutely nothing more satifying to me than to make someone smile because I played something they can relate to or are moved by. It really can be summed up in the simplest way as being purely 'Love'. Love and happiness is real and is present within' music. Without it, we would feel empty.
I'm asking for your help because I know that I can write your favorite song. I can give you that moment in time that is pure love and will last beyond our years here on this crazy planet. I know I can do it because I have your support and I have been gifted with the opportunity to succeed in creating lasting memories. I invite you to join me on my quest for a better world through peace, love, & music because I strongly believe we can help each other through song. As part of this fund me campaign, I am sharing this at this time because my career is really at a pinnacle moment. I've recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee, the home of music, to take my stab at this crazy musical adventure. I feel as though this was my best option for connecting with the right people that will help boost my career because lets face it, you have to know people in the industry to make things work and be able to spread beautiful music to the furthest reaches of the universe! I've been fortunate enough to have already made a few connections in my short three months of living here and am excited to say I have a THREE SONG EP coming out by the end of this year that was recorded at the world famous Blackbird Studios owned by John and Martina McBride. This EP features three brand new songs, my new band of brothers (Justin Kimball on Bass, Nate Mould on Drums, and Dustin Olyan on guitar & Engineering), and some vocal harmony help from Nashville's Nicole Scott and International Recording Artist and friend, Stephen Kellogg!! Along with this release, I am also starting my next full length album next month titled "The Story" and will be updating everyone on the progress of that recording! In the meantime, I am exploring every possible way to play and be heard here in Nashville: writing to radio stations, music venues, going to open mics, meeting people in the music business, and playing and writing as much as my fingers and stamina will allow. I know I can do this and I know I have your love and support! Your donation will help me purchase necessary tools to push my music into more listening platforms, record and master material, purchase CD and vinyl copies of my original music library, and start my brand of merchandise to enhance the experience of my music for my fans.
