Bring Doug Beckwith Home !!!

Doug Beckwith had a bad accident on July 25th and is still in the hospital/after care facility recovering and learning how to do activities again.  Doug suffered a spinal cord injury from the accident and right now is paralyzed from the chest down.  He has some movement of one arm and can move his shoulders.  He does need a ventilator and needs it 24/7 but has recently been able to go 10 hours with out it.  He is doing aggressive physical therapy to regain as much as he can for his upper body.  Doug is a strong willed, has always been a hard worker from day one!!  He has worked at NYSEG for over 10 years and loved the job, long hours and stressful job but he liked it, but the Farm, a family farm that has been in the family for many many years, and held many memories for him and his family as well as mine was his life!  He never ever went to bed early, he always had something to do or fix. The farm was his life, and all the memories that came with it.  He is a strong willed/ hard working farmer that would give you the shirt off his back if you asked.  He has 2 sons, DJ and wife Bethany and their 2 kids Jorden and Derek, Joe and his fiancee Cassidy.  His wife, Jody is a post master with the USPS and is going to kill me for doing this for her and her family.  BUT this family needs the support of our small community right now, they have always given back to our community when ever asked or not even asked.   Neither of them would ever ask for money or help period.  They are both strong headed and know they can do it themselves, but I think we as a community need to help them even if they don’t “want” it.  They will need special equipment and supplies and services when Doug comes back home and I think it will be more then what the insurance will cover and  if we can help and not let them go into debt for this equipment it would mean a lot to them.  Doug and Jody and the boys mean the world to me.  They are family!! They need the support and strength our community has shown in the past, shown to them now.  Thank you for any help and donations.  I will keep this updated with how Doug is doing as much as I can!!  Bring Doug home :)
