Please Help Us Save Xena
Donation protected
Hi those who read this message. Recently I have taken a Horsefield tortoise called Xena into my care. Due to inability to meet her needs she was surrendered to me. Upon collecting her, i had a discussion with the previous carer who had only had her for a couple of weeks prior to me collecting. As of right now she is very lethargic and refusing to eat which could be put down to something as simple as going into hibernation. However, she alongside these issues is also suffering from a variety of medical emergencies. As seen in the photos attatched to this, she has a large abcess on the back right side of her head. This is causing her clear discomfort and pain. She also appears to have a slight runny nose which could be down to a respiratory infection. Her front legs, as seen in the photo attatched, are filthy and therefore have been infected and she has lost most of the scales there. Her shell is soft and brittle which is a sign of calcium deficiency and I believe, although I have not managed to have a close look yet, that she may have some form of infection within her mouth or tongue which could relate to why she is not eating. Shes due to go to the Vets Monday morning and with all these issues combined, I do not have enough money to help save her. We, Reptile Discovery - Reptile Rescue North East, desperatley need your help. Please donate anything if you can and if not then share this link. Thank you.
