Help Altadena Family Recover from the Eaton Fires

I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for help on behalf of my dear friend Emily and her family, who have recently experienced an unimaginable loss in the wake of the devastating Eaton Fire in Altadena. Emily, her sister, and their mother have lived in their home for over 30 years. Sadly, the fire destroyed everything they owned, including their home, personal belongings, and all of the cherished memories they built there over the years.

Emily and her sister grew up in that house—every room holds a lifetime of memories, from their childhood to adulthood. The pain of losing their home is compounded by the loss of a place that was filled with family history, traditions, and irreplaceable moments. The loss of these memories, in addition to their personal belongings, is a heartbreak that no one should have to endure.

While Emily, her sister, and their mother are safe, the emotional and material toll is overwhelming. To make matters even more devastating, Emily’s father, who also lived in the Altadena community, lost his home as well. The family has deep, generational roots in this neighborhood—they’ve been a part of the community for decades, and the loss is felt not only within their family but within the very fabric of the community they love.

We are starting this campaign to help them rebuild their lives. Every donation, no matter how small, will directly assist Emily and her family with immediate needs and beginning the long road to recovery.
