Help Rebuild a Life After Tragedy

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of my beloved grandad, who recently experienced a devastating fire at his home in Tanzania. He has faced unimaginable loss. In addition to losing his home, he lost all his belongings, crops he grew for several years and the five cows he had raised like his own children.

My grandad has been a farmer all his life. Even at his age now, he would wake up every morning at 6am to water his crops and feed his cows, a routine he found purpose and peace in. But now, it’s all gone.

Adding to this immense sorrow, my grandad has endured the loss of his loved ones. He was married to my beloved grandma for over 50 years before she sadly passed away in 2013. He found love again and remarried, but his second wife also passed away a few years later. It has been one hardship after another for him.

He is a humble, kind-hearted man who, despite facing great tragedy, always manages to keep a smile on his face. His strength and positivity inspires everyone around him. We are incredibly grateful that my grandad didn’t get hurt in the fire and is alive and well.

We’re raising funds to help him rebuild his home and start over. Any support, big or small, would mean the world to us and bring hope to his life.
