Taylor’s Medical Expenses

Hello, my name is Alison and I created this gofundme to help my sister Taylor Brazenor with her medical expenses. She has been battling Primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1) her entire life and has recently hit a wall with her genetic condition. Taytay has unfortunately progressed to end-stage renal disease, critical creatinine levels, a possible kidney infection with a CT scan showing a large cyst on her right kidney, and constant elevated blood pressure which have put her in the hospital. She is currently admitted to ARMC City Division and is awaiting transport to Penn in Philadelphia for a higher level of care.

The transplant team at Penn placed her on the kidney transplant list in November 2021 with seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel. Even though not a match, Taylor’s mother is participating in the paired donation program through PENN - but we are still awaiting an exact match for Taylor.

Worst case scenario (which may be happening), she may need both a liver and kidney transplant simultaneously. She has been taking Oxlumo (the only current treatment for PH1) since Nov 2021 but unfortunately, the damage had already been done to her kidneys.

Taylor is a 25-year-old mother of two little girls, fiancé, and a proud team leader on ARMC 6 Harmony PCU who has battled this pandemic on the frontlines for the past 3 years. When not working at the hospital, she covers as a substitute nurse for Pinelands Regional School District which happens to be her alma mater (Class of 2015). She is facing a possible bilateral nephrectomy and hemodialysis in the very near future and will stay on hemodialysis until a kidney becomes available for transplant.
