JUSTICE FOR MISTY WILTSHIRE-HOPKINS
Misty Wiltshire-Hopkins was a loving and caring daughter, mother, grand-mother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend. Who enjoyed spending time raising her children most. She was a business owner and entrepreneur that was highly respected throughout the community. Misty was a determined go-getter that encouraged and supported so many people on her path to success. Her support and love drove people to accomplish their dreams of business ownership. Her big heart was what people loved most about her.
Misty was a hard worker that managed to balance being a mommy and entrepreneur effortlessly. She loved starting her own businesses and tried her hands at many things. Her last endeavors were, Hair Free (a wax spa) frequented by many and her very own trucking company. She was a true role model who poured her love, and time into the community, and often the biggest support system to those in need. Misty was the pride and joy to her family and all who loved her in the community.
But on March 19, 2021, she was heinously gunned down in broad day light, right outside of her place of business. Someone approached her while she was on the phone and startled her. That person shot Misty 10 times then fled the scene on foot, passing many open businesses. She was murdered in cold blood, leaving so many people deeply heartbroken, angry and desperately seeking answers. We know someone saw something that may help. We are begging all witnesses, if you saw something or heard something, please come forward and say something. Her children deserve answers and her family deserves justice. Misty leaves behind 5 children, ages (2years old- 23 years old). Misty comes from a family that loves her dearly and will not stop fighting for her until someone is held accountable. The family is demanding that the Miami Gardens Police Department homicide unit and Miami-Dade county help find and arrest the person responsible for this heinous murder. It is understood that there are at least 2,000 unsolved crimes in Miami-Dade County, and we refuse to allow Misty’s case to become another cold file.
The Wiltshire Family will not let what happened to Misty be forgotten. We want the person who took my sisters life to be found and held responsible for his or her actions.
