Mary's Cancer Treatment Fund
Donation protected
In May 2022 our sister’s whole life was turned upside down when she received devasting news. Mary (43) was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of Breast Cancer-Invasive Ductal Carcinoma -Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Mary is mother to two young children Pádraig (7) and Éadaoin (3). Mary is a loving Wife to Donal, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and a friend to many. Mary has always been a strong pillar for our family, and she is adored by all that know her. Her wish is to continue fighting her cancer to be around to see as many milestones in Pádraig and Éadaoin life’s as she can.
Marys battle to date has included 20 weeks of Chemo, followed by a mastectomy and lymph node axillary clearance. Mary then continued her treatment with Radiotherapy for 3 weeks. Unfortunately, despite all this treatment and following a scan, she was told that the cancer had metastasised (travelled) to her lung. Mary was given a life expectancy of two years with the only treatment option offered being to try to contain the cancer for as long as possible.
Mary has travelled from her home in Ireland to the Royal Marsden in London and has had a positive meeting with the doctors there. They are now looking into different treatment options for Mary. Unfortunately, this will come with huge costs, from the treatment itself, tests and to all other associated costs with travelling abroad.
Mary’s bravery and strength of character has been nothing short of amazing throughout this whole journey and she continues to inspire us and make us so proud of her every day. We have set this fundraiser up to allow Mary to receive much needed treatment and give her as much time as possible to enjoy her beautiful life with her adored children Pádraig and Éadaoin and her husband and best friend Donal.
We as a family thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping to relieve the financial burden from Mary and her family.
We will continue to update you on Mary’s journey and progress.
