Hello,
On Thursday night, September 30th, my mom, my little brother, and I were met with a devastating reality. A fire ignited in the garage, it quickly spread and affected our entire home. We had no time to grab any of our belongings. It is something I never thought would have happened to us. But life takes its own course sometimes.
The cause of this fire is still unknown and under investigation.
I am thankful that nobody has been hurt. However, we live in a townhouse, and our next-door neighbors' home was also affected by the fire. We feel horrible that this has affected them as well.
The rest of my immediate family (father and brother) still works on the other side of the globe, which has made things even harder. We had to move away from Hong Kong due to the rising political tension in the past year. Our family is split geographically, although we are trying to reunite in Canada.

I am still in shock and have to work fast to secure living accommodations. Right now, we are doing our best with the resources we have, but we were not prepared for this. A lot of the income we have currently goes into funding my little brother's education. He attends a special needs school because we want to provide him with an opportunity to get the help he needs and deserves. But it is a large expense. I am currently finishing my post-secondary education, I am only one year away from graduating. A hefty tuition fee has just been paid for this school year.
We are on our last leg here trying to stay afloat. I would hate for anyone I know and care about to be going through this, but this is our reality.
In conclusion, I am trying to raise money to cover all the damages to the affected properties caused by the fire. We were just settling down in Canada, we just bought this house and had it renovated, unfortunately we did not purchase home insurance yet.
I am eternally grateful for any help.
