Newsom Family

On June 17th, in a tragic accident, Nathan Newsom lost his life. He left behind his wife of 23 years, Janis, and their 10 children. Nathan was 39 years old and served in law enforcement for 14 years while running Bear Branch Farms in Stayton Oregon.

In 2018 they lost their 2 month old, Finnley, and in 2020 they lost their newborn Bodhi who was just a few days old. Nathan and Janis were each others rock and leaned into one another to get their family through such tragic losses. In 2021 the Newsom’s moved to Bend Oregon for a fresh start and opened Bend Community Farm.

Nathan and Janis were devoted to living their life to the fullest and enjoying time and making memories together. They would take trips away as a family every month to explore Oregon and Washington. Nathan would spend time teaching his daughter how to break their mustang and spend weekends at rodeos. Nathan was single-handedly renovating their farmhouse they bought in 2021. Their family is absolutely devastated and Janis is figuring out how to guide her family through this massive loss, on her own.

Nathan’s legacy lives on through his kids Kayla (21), Wyatt (20) Everett (19). Tanner (17), Kenna (14), Maddy (13), Jaxxon (11), BryleeAnne (10), Fynnick (3), and Byndhi (8 mo.)
