I'm making scrubs for South London hospitals who are running out. I'm fund raising to buy fabric and elastic and waist drawstrings (which I will use once I've run out of local people's bedsheets and duvet covers...)
If you have a fiver, it would be much appreciated. I got 100m of fabric for £150 the other day and each set of scrubs uses about 4-4.5m of fabric to give you an idea.
I had thought that would do, but it seems people are super generous and are keeping on giving, so I am now working toward my next batch!
Have a google / look on Facebook of For the Love of Scrubs if you want more info - links in my comments below. EDIT: just ordered approx £900 of fabric today (14/4/20) and awaiting delivery! Photos will be available shortly. ACCOUNTABILITY: Given this has taken off quite so much - and you are all very kindly taking this on faith, which makes my heart warm- I wanted to just mention I am getting invoices/receipts and ensuring I use the funds appropriately. The two costs are 1. The fabric; and 2. Postage to those who are unable to pick it up to sew it (at an appropriate social distance) during their Mandated Government Exercise. I was going to sew it all myself, but I am afraid it’s got too big for one woman and her 1960s Singer, so this is being sewn by a series of south London sewers. The power of social media and facebook Anyway, thanks again people - keep calm, carry on and STAY AT HOME. Much love xxx
