Please help Nugget

I had to leave my Nugget at the hospital today. He's been sick for over a month and now fighting for his life.

Blood has been taken numerous times for every disease test possible, crop cultures, fecal tests, fluid injections, tube feedings, xrays and he's been on about 10 different medications. All tests came back negative except crop cultures, they showed different types of bacteria and was treated with no recovery which meant there is a much worse underlying problem. Xrays were done 2 weeks ago at an emergency room visit (my avian vet was away) because of his drastic weight loss, vomiting and dehydration, thinking the only thing left was a possible internal blockage. The doctor on call, the avian vet and radiologist did not see a blockage concern. Nugget continued to decline in health so I had my avian vet do xrays again for a second opinion when she got back. In review of these xrays, there was obvious concern of a blockage. Nugget is hospitalized now and it broke my heart to leave him there. I know he's getting the best care possible, I just pray it's not too late.

This afternoon's update is that he got injectable medication and fluid and his crop was flushed out so they could start the barium (dye injection) so they can take xrays as the dye moves through his system. This will show where and possibly what the blockage is. Depending where the blockage is will determine the risk of surgery and/or removal. He's already so weak that just the anesthesia would be high risk.

Every single person that knows me, knows that my parrots are my kids, my life, especially Nugget. A Golden Conure has been my dream bird for years. I never thought the opportunity to have this bright ray of sunshine in my life would ever happen. He's not just a golden conure, he's my Nugget, my boy. I will do absolutely anything to save his life, even if it means to ask for help.

Nuggets vet bills as of right now total $4,762.42. This does not include my avian vets total and it does not include surgery if it comes to that. If there isn't an option to attach receipts directly in GoFundMe I will via fb post.
