Study Abroad to Belize

My name is Allie Hicks and I am a senior agricultural communications student at Texas Tech University. One of the items on my undergrad “bucket list” is to gain experience while studying abroad. As a senior graduating in August, I am happy to announce that I have been given the opportunity to cross that item off my list and study abroad in Belize.

The purpose of this trip is to improve my photography and videography skills. During this seven-day program, we will visit Belizean history and culture sites, several farms, and agritourism businesses. At each location we will conduct interviews, take photographs, shoot video footage and learn about how food makes it from the farm to the table.

This is a great opportunity for me to immerse myself in a different culture while adding to my professional portfolio. However, it is also a huge financial burden. Despite the cost, my parents are my biggest supporters and have pushed me to follow my dreams of studying abroad. Although loans and scholarships have made this dream of mine a reality, not all of the costs are covered. The donations I receive will aid me in paying for tuition and fees, airfare and any expenses while abroad. I want to thank you for any way at all you can help me. Every penny counts!
