Help a young mother

Hi, my name is Cheryl and we are fundraising for our absolutely beautiful niece Chelsey who has had 6 months of hell. Our medical system in Canada is amazing however there's more costs than just surgery.

 

On Dec 31 2021, she went for a walk but unfortunately she underestimated the cold. She experienced a panic attack after trying to hold it together as so many of us do, unfortunately it was -45 when this happened and she became disoriented.

 

She was found hours later with a core temp of only 23C. She was basically dead the Dr's told her later. She spent time in ICU and lost a large section of her nose, her knees, as well as several toes (including big toes on both feet).

 

All in about 48 days in hospital (during covid so no visitors) in a hospital far away from her family. She has maintained an INCREDIBLE disposition not many of us could.

 

She now faces many appointments in another city hours away with surgeons to repair her knees, nose and yet... she may still lose more toes.

 

Her family has been without her income for the entire time as she previously exhausted federal and provincial supports for other medical reasons. Her husband too had lost his medical benefits. They really need some help to not only bring debtors at bay from the past months but also to deal with the travel needed to get her through the next bout of surgery. This is going to be a tough road for her especially but also her family.

 

She's a mother to 2 amazing boys. She's a wife, sister, daughter, cousin, niece. Anything you can offer is amazing. Thank you so much
