Help For Mom

As some of your may not know, my mother, Brenda,  has had an incredibly tough year.  August of last year, she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis.  In layman's terms, it attacks the spine and causes severe pain which affects her quality-of-life.  With the most recent test results, we found that most of her vertebrae have herniated with degenerated disc's.  Which, as you can imagine, is extremely painful and taxing on her body and a burden emotionally. 

 Unfortunately, there is no cure for the disease, only a regimen of carefully prescribed medications to cope with the pain. Some of these medications include chemo therapy and heavy pain medications to help lessen the pain and try to make it through the day, as well as a weekly visit to the physical therapist in an attempt to prevent further damage to her spine. There have been several mornings within the past several months where she has struggled to just get out of bed in the morning because of the pain.

 Of course, prayer and fellowship are always welcome, but I've started this account to help her financially as she and my brother will be moving this summer across town. 

 First, she is unable to pack and move herself and Joshua. We would like to hire movers to pack and move them, and the total cost for moving their possessions would be $750. Also she is needing $522 to put as a deposit down for her new residence.

 Secondly, her new apartment has a washer and dryer connection. She does not have either of these. About $600 will go towards this purchase. However, if anyone is willing to donate a washer or dryer, either would be greatly appreciated! 

 Thirdly, $800 would go towards hired help around the house. With my mom in a state of constant pain, her current place needs a lot of attention to be kept clean. Her focus is taking care of my brother, her job, physical therapy, and resting to continue healing from her surgery back in January. 

 Additionally, my brother will be needing a bed to sleep in. So $100 will go towards a trundle bed for him. Or if anyone has one to donate, we will gladly accept one too!

 Lastly, about $400 will be needed to help cover her electric bill for the next four months. Because she has been in so much pain, she has needed to take a lot of days off from her job. This, unfortunately, has caused her to be  short on a few of her bills before her lease is up.  Any donations in this area would be greatly appreciated. 

Please note, should you want to help take care of any of the items directly and pay either the cleaning service with postdated checks,  or pay the moving company with any funds, etc., we want to make certain you feel comfortable that the funds are going directly to the needs stated above. 

 This is been a difficult road for my mom. I have seen the severity of the pain my mother suffers daily, regardless of the medications and therapy. I'm hoping that this will help ease some of her stress so that all she needs to focus on is healing and getting stronger. We love all of you, and we know that anything will help.
