Family in need of a vehicle

Hi my name is Sheena. If you know me you know I am terrible at asking for help for myself. Normally I’m fundraising for others. But I find myself in a situation without a vehicle and no funds to cover and unexpected expense of needing one. Being the only income for my family a car is a necessity. I truly hate having to do this.

Back in September the engine in a car I was making payments on blew. I still owed over 5k on the car and it was going to cost over 7k to fix it and that was just parts not including labor. So we were down to one vehicle, and still owe on it. Even though it’s a total loss because I bought it used and the warranty ended over a year before the engine went.

A couple days ago my low coolant light came on in my current car. I added coolant and it was fine. Thursday night my light came on again. Friday I went to work it was still on. I added a half of a container of coolant. It still said low coolant with an added light of “check coolant temp”. Stopped and grabbed 2 containers of antifreeze, put one in, drove maybe 15-20 miles and ended up having to pull over because the red light “engine over heated” came on. Put another container of anti freeze in to try to make it home and got 2 mins away from home and the light came on again. This time you could hear the boiling with the car off. Had my car towed to a shop.

Come to find out my frame was so rotted a spring broke and busted a hole in my heater coil. The mechanic said I’m lucky the car didn’t fall apart while driving on the highway the frame is so bad.

So I’m humbling myself to ask for help to get a vehicle. I have $0 in savings, and not a lot in my account. Nothing for a rainy day back up. I am looking for a vehicle that will hold myself and my family. All 5 of us. Reliable would be ideal but I can’t be without a vehicle or I won’t be able to work. I don’t live on a bus line, and my jobs are all over. Anything would be incredible to alleviate this mess just after Christmas.

If you’re unable to help just sharing would be helpful. My parents were able to help me rent a car for a few days but I don’t really have transportation for long after that. I am extremely grateful for any and all help. If anyone has a car for sale at a reasonable price or would want to trade labor for a vehicle I’m not above doing that as well. I can install carpet, vinyl plank (glue down not click), clean houses, baby sit and lots of other odd jobs.
