**Help Me Pay for Ollie’s Surgery**
Hi everyone,
Those of you who know me know my animals are my whole world, and I wouldn’t create one of these unless I really needed the help... So here we are.
On August 15th, my lil angel Ollie started throwing up and acting strange. By August 17th, he had completely stopped eating (very unlike chonky boy lol) and using the litter box, so I knew it was time to bring him to the emergency vet. They took X-rays and gave him fluids, but at first, they couldn’t say with 100% certainty that there was a blockage. They sent me home around 9:30 PM and said to monitor his behavior.
Around 11 PM, Dr. Hilbert (who was amazing) called me back after taking a closer look at Ollie’s X-rays from different angles. She didn’t love what she saw, so we were back at 7 AM the next morning. Thankfully, my friend Ashley (emotional support humans are important through these things) was Ollie’s vet tech that day and kept me updated throughout the whole process. After taking new X-rays and having them reviewed ASAP, they discovered a foreign body obstruction and called me to say that Ollie would need surgery.
The total cost of Ollie’s bills from Saturday night and Sunday surgery was $4,417.72, which means the plastic bag Ollie ate is the most expensive bag I’ve ever owned lol.
While I had a limit of $3,600 on CareCredit and put the rest on my personal credit card, the payments are still a significant burden. A few months ago, I had car repairs that were $2,600; in July, I paid double rent and all the expenses that come with moving; and I only just started my “real job” at the end of June. Usually, I would hustle my way to cover the costs of the surgery, but there have been so many large costs lately that it makes this very overwhelming, so any assistance you could offer would mean the world to both Ollie and me.
Every little bit helps, whether it’s a donation or just sharing this campaign with others. I know times are tough for everyone, so even the smallest contribution would be deeply appreciated. If you do contribute, consider it my 30th birthday gift :)
Thank you so much for your support and kindness during this time. Ollie and I are incredibly grateful for any help you can provide.
With gratitude,
Caitlin
