Help Bella Beat Leukemia

Donation protected
This is my beautiful 6 year old granddaughter Bella. Last week we were blasting music in the kitchen having a dance party and this week I am driving to  Beth Israel's Children's Hospital in Newark, NJ, everyday to be with her and my daughter Brittany.
You see, Bella was just diagnosed with (AML) Leukemia, a diagnosis no parent or grandparent ever wants to hear. She is receiving intensive treatment and has a long tough road ahead. Brittany will be with her for several five-week stays as Bella receives treatment. Brittany is an amazing mother and will not leave Bella's side, therefore is unable to work and will have no income.

Update: After the genetic tests came back this week (3/18), we were informed that Bella will need a bone marrow transplant and will be transferred to Hackensack Children's Hospital where we will hopefully find a donor match quickly and undergo treatment. This will take place after the 3rd cycle of chemo at Beth Israel.

If you are able, and feel it in your heart to contribute to the cost of Bella's care we would be forever grateful. If you are unable to give monetarily we completely understand. We ask that everyone  please, please continue to pray for Bella's healing and for Brittany's strength.

We are completely overwhelmed at the love, support and prayers that have been coming in for Bella. Thank you all so very much from the bottom of our hearts for your kind and generous donations. Please keep the prayers coming.

Update on Bella 4/25/21:
Bella is handling this entire situation with amazing bravery and strength. She is tolerating the chemo well and has now finished the 2nd chemo cycle. Her doctors are currently waiting for her "good" white blood cell count to come up and she will be able to come home for another week long visit (we can't wait!!!). She has had a few challenges with blood pressure regulation, leg pain, and an itchy/sore rash that developed all over her body from the latest chemo cycle. Her amazing and dedicated team of doctors have been able to treat everything and this brave child has handled each situation like a champ. Unfortunately the treatment for AML requires long stays in the hospital each chemo cycle. We are blessed that she remains in great spirits. Her days are filled with crafts, physical therapy, receiving antibiotics, platelets, transfusions and other meds through IV, playing on her Ipad and listening to music videos.
We thank everyone who has donated and has sent gifts to brighten her days in the hospital. Your kindness and thoughtfulness is a blessing.
Please continue to pray for our beautiful Bella. We believe in the power of prayer and your prayers really do make a difference and mean the world to us!

UPDATE 7/1/21
Although we were hoping for Bella's bone marrow to be scheduled in early July, there were some complications. Bella's last blood test results came back with a higher percentage of cancer cells and the procedure is now postponed until she can be kicked into remission. It was explained that the transplant will not be successful with cancer cells present. And with AML, a bone marrow transplant is the only option.
The good news is that she will be going to Hackensack Hospital soon where she will undergo another round of heavy duty chemo which is about a 4-5 week cycle in total. After that she will have another spinal and as long as no cancer cells are present, Bella will immediately be given the bone marrow transplant.
Bella's leukemia is rare and very difficult to treat and all the while this little seven year old has been amazingly brave and resilient keeping up the most positive attitude. I don't know that most adults can go through what this little girl has gone through and maintain the same spirit. We are so proud of her and so very amazed by her.
What this also means is that her treatment may be much longer than expected. My daughter Brittany (Bella's mommy) who has been with Bella every step of the way has put her career aside, unable to work, to be with Bella. It now looks as if the treatment will be throughout the summer and well into the fall.
If you are able to contribute to Bella's care our family would be so very grateful. It has been very difficult to go this far with constant worry for our Bella. We want nothing more than for her to recover and lead a normal life where she can once again be with children, play, swim and run around like normal. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed. We are so grateful! Please continue to pray for Bella's complete healing.
