Support Kelsey through multiple surgeries

Hello, my name is Brittany and I am raising money for my sister, Kelsey. Kelsey is 29 and has been battling ulcerative colitis since she was 13. These past two years have brought extremely worsening symptoms.

She’s been on every medication possible and has had numerous colonoscopies in the past 6 months. Her quality of life is not one that a 29 year old should have. She is up all night with issues and it’s hard for her to work and enjoy the fun activities of being young. She finally decided to go to Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

She had the first of three surgeries done in July and all went well. She is adjusting to life with a colostomy bag. Many weeks later doctors found a blockage that is causing Kelsey lots of pain. She went back to Mayo and they decided she needed surgery to remove it. So she will have surgery to remove that while doing her second surgery of this process in early October. This will be a 7 hour surgery and quite difficult. We pray for good outcomes and that she can be healed.

Kelsey will not be able to work for at least 6 weeks after surgery #2 and #3. Unfortunately bills don’t stop and her insurance payments aren’t cheap due to her medical issues. Plus she’s still paying for past medical bills because of her colitis. She doesn’t qualify for disability either.

Kelsey is mentally exhausted as she’s been dealing with this for a long time. My hope is that we can all help with these money issues so she can focus on her health.
