Jason West and Family

UPDATE
We wanted to thank Our Heavenly Father God that Jason was able to be transported home on July 26 after three and a half months of hospitalizations at three different specialized
facilities! We are so beyond grateful and so amazed at the mighty kind and healing Hand of God!
We want to thank everyone for the prayers and
donations (those given here on gofundme and the private ones as well!) and for your time and help! Thank you sincerely!
We please ask for continued prayers and donations as Jason has surely come a very long way on what is still a very long road. As a result of the stroke and brain bleed that followed his third heart attack, he has no mobility nor use on his entire left side, short term memory loss, and he still has a feeding tube.
Jason has an upcoming consultation with his neurologist to have his craniotomy surgery scheduled to have his skull bone flap replaced. He has been without it all this time.
Jason is now having at home occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, and home health nurse visits. Also, he has several scheduled doctors appointments (and will have many more) that specialized assisted transportation is needed. There are lots of specific everyday medical care supplies too that are a must. Copays and deductibles for all these acute care stays, procedures, and services are coming in. If you are able to make a donation, please do, and even if you aren’t able to donate, please continue to pray and thank The Lord for Jason and how far he has come and for the family.
We pray blessings on you and yours as well!
On March 10, our beloved friend, Jason West, suffered a heart attack. Jason was taken to the hospital where they cleared a blood clot from one of his previous stents and replaced it. After returning home two days later, Jason suffered a severe stroke and was once again rushed to the hospital. While at the hospital, it was discovered that a blood clot that had released and gone into his brain. As the clot burst and began to bleed, Jason suffered a severe brain hemorrhage. He then had to have part of his skull removed because his brain started to swell and the pressure needed to be relieved.
As you imagine, this was devastating to the family. Jason was put in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit where he remained for a month. Due to the brain bleed, they were unable to continue him on his heart medicines, especially the blood thinner. They were concerned about his heart; however, they had no choice but to stop these medications so that his brain could heal. Unfortunately, Jason suffered another heart attack and went into cardiac arrest. He required CPR and to be shocked two times, and thankfully they were able to bring him back. He remained in quite critical condition though.
Currently, Jason has improved enough to be transferred from WakeMed to a specialized LTAC Hospital. This facility specializes in rehabilitation of issues that Jason currently has. Depending on his progress here, he will still face another surgery in one to two months to reattach his skull bone flap. As you can see, Jason has a long road in front of him, and he and his family need all the support you can give.
Jason’s hospital bills that include deductibles and copays are mounting by the day. This type of hospital medical care and rehabilitation care is extremely expensive.
This Go Fund Me is created to help the West family with medical expenses not covered by his insurance and the day to day expenses the family is facing while he is on limited income of short term disability. We are asking you to please consider donating any amount you can to help the West Family. Any amount is most appreciated.
Most of all, please pray for Jason and his family, and please help thank God for how far He has brought him. Thank you for your time and support!
